Where Sonar Stores Your Data

To support customers operating in different jurisdictions, Sonar uses regional infrastructure that keeps customer data within the geographic region associated with their instance.

A customer’s physical location does not necessarily determine which data center their account uses. By request, customer instances may be hosted in either Sonar data center based on the selected hosting arrangement.

Data Center Regions

Sonar currently operates two primary hosting regions:

US Region
  • Data is stored and processed in data centers located within the United States.

Non-US Region
  • Data is stored and processed in data centers located in Canada.

Customer instances remain within their assigned region, and data is not transferred between regions unless explicitly required for service operations.

Data Privacy and Regulatory Considerations

Each region is operated with controls designed to support compliance with the privacy and data protection laws applicable to that jurisdiction.

Canadian hosting environments operate under strong national privacy protections such as PIPEDA, and can help support organizations aligning their infrastructure with international data protection frameworks such as GDPR.

Third-Party Services and Integrations

Sonar may use third-party services or integrations to support certain features and functionality.

In some cases, these providers may process or store limited data outside of the primary hosting region. These services are selected and managed in accordance with Sonar’s security and data protection standards.
